Tinubu Orders Recall of All Ambassadors, Excludes UN Representatives

President Bola Tinubu has issued a directive for the recall of both career and non-career ambassadors stationed worldwide, excluding only the United Nations Permanent Representatives in New York and Geneva. This directive, effective immediately, was conveyed through a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, on Saturday evening.

The exemption of Nigeria's UN Permanent Representatives is a strategic decision in light of the upcoming United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) scheduled for later this month.

President Bola Tinubu's decision to recall ambassadors reflects a thorough evaluation of the current conditions at Nigerian Consulate Offices and Embassies globally. Aligned with his Renewed Hope Agenda, the President aims to ensure that foreign and domestic service delivery to citizens, residents, and prospective visitors achieves world-class efficiency and quality.
