The governor, who is currently in Beijing, is finalizing key agreements that will unlock an initiative projected to create over 350,000 direct and indirect jobs and generate more than $450 million annually for Kaduna State.
In a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, the visit follows earlier high-level discussions in Abuja with the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, H.E. Yu Dunhai.
Governor Sani is accompanied by a delegation from the Federal Government led by the Director General of the Nigeria China Strategic Partnership, Mr. Joseph Tegba a strong indication of the national importance attached to the project.
According to the statement, the $200 million poultry initiative will strengthen Nigeria’s food security, fast-track agro-industrialisation, boost export earnings, and place Kaduna State at the forefront of modern agricultural development.
While in Beijing, Governor Sani is expected to hold strategic sessions with China Communications Construction Company and other partners to consolidate investment commitments and expand technical collaboration.
Commissioner Maiyaki described the mission as a bold step toward attracting world-class investments into Kaduna State, stating:
“Governor Uba Sani’s engagement in China reflects the state’s commitment to partnerships that drive transformative economic growth. This landmark poultry project will create thousands of jobs, reinforce food security, and firmly position Kaduna as a continental leader in agribusiness.”
Governor Sani also expressed deep appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for selecting Kaduna as the pilot location for the innovative project and to the Chinese government for its sustained partnership.
With this initiative, Kaduna takes a decisive leap toward becoming a major powerhouse in Nigeria’s agricultural value chain.
