Speaking on Monday at the 2025 Northern Nigeria Investment and Industrialization Summit in Abuja, Sule emphasized that federal allocations to the three tiers of government had quadrupled under President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms.
“For the first time in our history, all tiers of government are sharing more revenue than they ever imagined. Over N2.2 trillion was shared this month alone. When I became governor in 2019, we were sharing between N590 billion and N620 billion. Today, it is four times that amount,” the governor declared.
Sule maintained that every state now has the capacity to secure its people, insisting that leaders must stop shifting blame to others.
“Every state now has the resources to secure its people. We should stop blaming anybody for our security. If we are blaming anybody, blame ourselves,” he said.
Highlighting Nasarawa’s progress, the governor revealed that his administration had compelled solid mineral investors to set up processing plants within the state. This has led to the commissioning of a 3,000-metric-tonne-per-day facility and another 6,000-tonne plant awaiting inauguration. He further disclosed confirmed oil reserves of between five and seven million barrels, alongside plans to expand rice cultivation from 3,300 hectares to 8,000 hectares before the end of his tenure.
The summit, themed “Unlocking Strategic Opportunities in Mining, Agriculture and Power,” brought together stakeholders to deliberate on pathways for industrialisation and economic transformation across Northern Nigeria.
It will be recalled that the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) had recently announced the disbursement of N2.22 trillion among the three tiers of government in August, out of a gross total of N3.63 trillion
