Wike Secures Foreign Investment Deal in Italy, Returns to Abuja with Promising Agreements

Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has returned to Abuja after a successful diplomatic and economic engagement in Italy, where he sealed strategic agreements aimed at boosting vocational education and mechanized agriculture in the FCT.

Wike, who arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Monday, March 10, 2025, disclosed that his discussions with the President of the Lombardy Regional Government, Attilio Fontana, resulted in a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that will establish a vocational training center in Abuja. This center will provide crucial skill acquisition opportunities for youths, aligning with efforts to tackle unemployment and enhance economic growth.
"Our visit was very fruitful," Wike told journalists upon arrival. "We have secured a partnership with Lombardy to set up a vocational center for youth training and to introduce modern mechanized farming, which will create jobs and drive economic development in the FCT."

The Minister emphasized that this collaboration aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes foreign partnerships to boost Nigeria's economy and attract investors.

Wike’s visit to Italy marks another step in the FCTA’s commitment to leveraging international partnerships for sustainable development, signaling new opportunities for Abuja’s economic expansion.
