Kuntu/Isale-Jagun Road: Not Only Turaki, Everyone Will Suffer from Gov AA's Inferiority Complex - By Ayuba Musbau Kawu

To many, the news of Gov. Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq-led administration stopping N200m Constituency project to construct Kuntu/Isale-Jagun road facilitated by Senator Saliu Mustapha, the Turaki of Ilorin Emirate, representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, may come as a surprise. But to some of us, we knew, right from inception, that only time needed for everyone to suffer from Gov AA's Inferiority Complex. It's now the turn of the good people of Kuntu/Isale-Jagun community and Turaki, nobody knows whose turn it might be tomorrow. May be Amb. Yahaya Seriki, who "They call DG Yahaya Seriki", might be another target, from the same circle, to suffer for his inferiority complex.

According to the American Psychological Association, "an inferiority complex is characterized by constant feelings of inadequacy, deficiency or insecurity in your daily life due to a belief that you are physically or mentally inferior to others, whether such a belief is based on a rational assessment or not".

According to Alfred Adler, "a feeling of inferiority may be brought about by upbringing as a child (for example, being consistently compared unfavorably to a sibling), physical and mental limitations, or experiences of lower social status (for example, being treated unfavorably by one's peers)". I do not have info on his childhood days and I wouldn't know if this describes him well. But I'm sure those who knew him from his childhood days will assess him based on this. 

Also, an inferiority complex may cause an individual to overcompensate in a number of ways. For example, a person who feels inferior because they are shorter than average (also known as a Napoleon complex) due to common modern day heightism may become overly concerned with how they appear to others. They may wear special shoes to make themselves appear taller or surround themselves with individuals who are even shorter than they are. If this is taken to the extreme, it becomes a neurosis.

Carefully study the kind of people Gov AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq surrounds himself with agrees with the above statement on inferiority complex. It's no more hidden that if you show to be very productive, intuitive and what have you, you will immediately be frozen out of his circle. This is the reason for his pretendious youthful engagement and gender balancing where most of the people he considers for this are people of average production who can easily be manipulated to do his biddings. 

Inferiority complex may also cause an individual to be prone to flashy outward displays, with behavior ranging from attention-seeking to excessive competitiveness and aggression, in an attempt to compensate for their either real or imagined deficiencies. Going by this, everyone is aware how our Gov has turned himself to a fashionista here and there. Instead of using his office as Chairman of Nigerian Governors' Forum(NGF) effective, his major notable outings were only meant for taking pictures to announce only his presence. On one occasion, he needed to be introduced as the Chairman of NGF as he almost mistaken for a more consistent Governor from our neighboring state in South West.

I always tell people that Turaki and Gov AA can not last for a long period. This is not because of anything but because Turaki's presence threatens Gov AA, judging from most indicators. The kind of crowd he, Turaki, pulled before and during last general elections will not be accommodated by anyone suffering from inferiority complex just as Gov AA is suffering from.

On a final note, unless he's duly and timely checkmated, everyone, irrespective of one's camp or Satus, will suffer from Gov AA's Inferiority Complex.
