In a statement on Sunday, Malami said he would honour the invitation without hesitation, describing himself as a law-abiding and patriotic citizen* committed to due process.
“This is to confirm that I have been invited by the EFCC. As a law-abiding and patriotic citizen, I hereby reaffirm my commitment to honour the invitation,” he said.
Malami added that he remains guided by the principles of accountability, transparency and public service, which he said he consistently advocated while in office.
“Rooted in public service and in the spirit of transparency and accountability, I am committed to sharing with the Nigerian public the developments as they unfold,” he added.
The EFCC has not yet disclosed details of the investigation or the specific issues for which the former minister is being invited.
Malami served as Nigeria’s Attorney General from 2015 to 2023, a period marked by several high-profile legal battles, asset recovery operations and controversies surrounding major government decisions.
He assured Nigerians that he will cooperate fully with investigators and keep the public informed.
