Speaking to the well-known Ibadan-based journalist, Oriyomi Hamzat, the man, visibly emotional, detailed his experience. Despite studying Banking and Finance in London, his life took a drastic turn after a dream where he soared like an eagle.
"I just strangely found myself in Nigeria. I spent nine years in London. I studied Banking and Finance in London. I had struggled a lot. I had a dream like I was flying in the skies," he recounted, breaking down intermittently.
In the dream, he recounted flying over the Bahamas, a place he had visited in reality. The dream then led him to London before welcoming him to Africa and ultimately Nigeria, where he saw familiar sights like cattle and 'molue' buses before awakening.
Tragically, the man claimed his house in Akoka, Lagos, built after returning to Nigeria, was sold by his own brother, who also allegedly chased his wife out of the property. The man's descent into homelessness took him to Oshodi Bridge, where he was awakened by policemen one fateful day.
From there, he traced his way to a mountain in Ifo, Ogun State, where he spent six years enduring hardship. The man accused his elder brother of tormenting him and denying him his rightful inheritance.
Now, at 43 years old, the man appeals to fellow Nigerians for assistance, highlighting the irony that the child he left behind as a five-month-old is unable to help due to financial constraints.
