As the Kwara State APC congress draws closer, it appears that the loyalists of AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq would be disappointed again following the news that the Governor is in a scheme to appoint his ally, Prince Sunday Fagbemi or Hon. Jide Shonibare, from defunct CPC as the head of the Kwara APC.
The scheme was made known in contemplation of the outcomes of the forthcoming party congress across the state which was rescheduled to hold on 16th of October 2021.
While the rift amongst the party tendencies continue growing stronger, this is coming as a shock and defiance to any form of reconciliation. It also reveals the possibility that many loyalists and followers of the governor may dump him after being sidelined in many occasions as reported and lamented by most of the Governor's allies.
The party has recorded parallel operations following the State's Local Government Congress as a result of each factions holding unto their opinions of the Party structure. It is believed that the scheme of the Governor to further fortify his side by appointing a head for the State's APC party would not only break the possibility of reconciliation but also destroy the chain of his loyalist who may feel they have been used and dumped by the Governor.
Recall that one of the Chieftain of the Kwara APC, Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo has earned against giving the governor another chances to further damage the face of the party in the state. He alleged the Governor of being the mastermind of the destruction of the party and further accused him of killing all possible means to reconcile.
